Vulnerably Yours: Connecting Audiences to Picture Book Characters in a Heartbeat – Sue Ganz-Schmitt
Are you feeling vulnerable when it comes to writing picture books? Do you find it daunting and difficult to try creating irresistible characters—using only a sparse pallet of words? In this lecture, we will crack open the emotional core of well-loved fictional picture books to demystify the process. We will uncover tools and techniques that you can use to rapidly connect gatekeepers and audiences to the heart of your picture book characters. While these methods are especially effective for empathetic connection in picture books they can be used across all genres of writing.

The Rhyme or Reason of NaNoWriMo

Join us as we explore National Novel Writing Month and the phenomenon called NaNoWriMo. What is it? Why would anyone want to write 50,000 words in 30 days? And how can it actually benefit me?

Even though we’re already halfway through the month, the concepts behind NaNoWriMo are beneficial for ALL writers throughout the year. After all, it’s been helping people finish their books for the past 20 years.
