Lorri Horn

Lorri Horn is an educator and the author of Dewey Fairchild, Parent Problem Solver, which received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews, who included it among the “Best Middle Grade Books of 2017.”

The sequel is due out October 2018.

Lorri has a degree in English, a teaching credential, has been Nationally Board Certified, and taught public school for 15 years. Her work has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, Phi Delta Kappan, The College Board, and Mayim’s Vegan Table.

Lorri lives in California with her husband, son, and their dog, Wolfie.

Robin Yardi

Michael Thal

Michael Thal is the author of five published novels — Goodbye Tchaikovsky, The Abduction of Joshua Bloom, and The Koolura Series—The Legend of Koolura, Koolura and The Mystery at Camp Saddleback, and Koolura and the Mayans.

Moving from the frigid Northeast to comfy Southern California in 1973, Michael taught elementary and middle school for 28 years until a freak virus left him deafened at the age of 50. He reinvented himself as a writer composing over 80 published articles in print magazines as well as novels for middle grade and high school aged students.

Jennie Palmer

Jennie Palmer’s debut picture book, The Wompananny Witches Make One Mean Pizza, was published by Abrams Books for Young Readers in the fall of 2017. Publisher’s Weekly said of the debut, “It’s a cheerfully offbeat story of common ground—and uncommonly good pizza—bringing diverse neighbors together.”

Jennie is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design where she majored in Illustration. She worked as a production designer on the east coast for much of her professional life, most notably as a senior designer for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. During this time Jennie was lucky to have access to some very delicious pizza. She now lives in Burbank, CA with her husband and three kids, where there is far less delicious pizza but she is making it work.

Elisa Parhad

Kelli McNeil

Kelli McNeil is a Los Angeles based author. Her first book Sleepy Toes was released in the spring of 2017 with Scholastic. She is currently developing additional materials for the publishing giant for a wide-range of age groups. 2017 had her giving multiple book readings and signings around the country including Barnes & Noble in Studio City, Once Upon A Time Books in Montrose, and Auntie’s Books in Spokane.

Sleepy Toes was named one of “15 Best Picture Books for Kindergarten” in 2017 by We Are Teachers, alongside classics such as Where the Wild Things Are and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The book was also named by The Bump as one of the Best Stocking Stuffers for Kids.

R.S. Mellette’s critically acclaimed first novel, Billy Bobble Makes A Magic Wand, has a sequel, Billy Bobble And The Witch Hunt, just released from Elephant Bookshelf’s Press. Prior to Billy Bobble, Mellette’s Sci-Fi short stories were published in the anthologies: The Fall: Tales from the Apocalypse, Spring Fevers and Summer’s Edge. Ruthie Briggs-Greenberg

Ruthie Briggs-Greenberg is an author/illustrator & fine artist. Ruthie is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, the Lewis Carroll Society of North America, the Intern’l Women’s Writers Guild, the National Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha (Poli Sci @ UCSB) & the American Watercolor Society. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two children & one cat. Ruthie has a Masters in Fine Art from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her first two children’s illustrated books, Felicity the Dragon and Sea of Echoes were published in 2015 by Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group. Her artwork currently is carried at Elena’s Fine Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA & some of her work has been exhibited in numerous other art exhibitions & galleries in Southern California.
