Don’t miss this great opportunity to have your manuscript or portfolio critiqued by your SCBWI peers.
Here’s how it will work:
WRITERS: You will be asked to submit 5 double-spaced pages of your manuscript before the event via a Google form. The event moderators will share your manuscript with everyone in your group during the critique. Please include your name and the story title on the first page.
ILLUSTRATORS: You will be asked to submit your portfolio (5 – 10 pieces) or a 32 page picture book dummy before the event via a Google form. The event moderators will share your material (pdf format) with everyone in your group during the critique.
Links to the Google forms will be emailed to participants after completion of registration.
The SCBWI-L.A. Critique Day: Online Edition is for current SCBWI members only. To become a member, please visit https://www.scbwi.org/join-scbwi to sign up.
When registering, please choose a category. If some categories do not have enough participants to form a group, they may be combined.

Young Adult
All Critique Day attendees will be placed into their assigned groups/meeting rooms upon entry into the Zoom session. The Zoom invite link will be emailed to participants ahead of the event.
This unique FREE event is brought to you by the SCBWI-L.A. chapter. You must be logged in to register. Registration will be open from May 9th through May 26th. There are a limited number of spaces so sign up early!
Deadline for manuscript submission is June 5th at 8:00pm.
